This policy applies to personal information we handle about:

  • visitors to our website

  • people who send us an enquiry or a "Request a construction review" form

  • people who call, text or email us

  • clients, owners, strata committees, tenants and occupants connected with our projects

  • an optional discharge date, if timing matters for the job

  • any message you write

  • any files you choose to attach, such as drawings, photos or building documents.

Website use (analytics and advertising)

When you visit our website, Wix, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads automatically collect technical information, for example:

  • your IP address and approximate location (city or region)

  • your device, browser and operating system

  • the pages you view and how long you stay

  • how you arrived at our site, including the search keyword or Google ad you clicked

  • whether you submitted a form or clicked to call us.

We use this information in aggregate, as reports. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Your name, contact details, the details of your enquiry and any notes we make about our conversation.

Clients and project stakeholders

  • names, contact details and site addresses

  • property and access details

  • details of the works, including quotes, contracts, variations, invoices and payment records

  • site photos and correspondence

  • details of other people involved in the project, such as the builder's representative, strata manager, OT or plan manager.

Job applicants

Your resume, work history, licences and qualifications, referee details and anything else you give us in the recruitment process.

5. Sensitive information, health information and NDIS participants

Please read this section if you are an OT, support coordinator, plan manager, participant or family member.

Our website is not designed to collect health or disability information. To start a home modification enquiry we only need the basic details listed in section 4, such as your role, the suburb, the job type and, if relevant, a discharge date. We do not need anyone's diagnosis, medical history, NDIS number or plan details at this stage.

Please do not upload OT assessment reports, medical or health information, NDIS plans or NDIS numbers through our website form or email them to our general inbox. Instead, tell us in your enquiry that you have supporting documents, and we will contact you to arrange a secure way to share them.

If health information is uploaded or sent to us by mistake, we will treat it as confidential. As soon as practicable, we will:

  • move any information we genuinely need for the project out of the website system, into our secure project records, in line with the arrangements agreed with the person or organisation that engaged us

  • delete it from our website forms system (Wix) and from any related email notifications

  • destroy or de-identify any information we do not need, where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

Wix's automated backup systems may keep copies for a limited period before they are overwritten. We cannot control that timeframe.

How participant information is handled in project work. For NDIS home modifications, information about a participant, such as an OT's scope of works or relevant details about their needs, is handled entirely outside our website. We receive it directly from the OT, support coordinator, plan manager or other party who engages us. It is covered by a confidentiality agreement between Altitude and that party. We use it only to plan, price, build and hand over the modification. We share it only with people who need it for the work, such as a certifier or engineer, and only within the terms of that agreement or as required by law.

Government identifiers. We do not use NDIS numbers, Medicare numbers or other government related identifiers as our own way of identifying people. We only use or disclose them where the law allows, for example where a plan manager needs a participant's NDIS number to process an invoice.

Other sensitive information, such as criminal record checks for subcontractors or workers where required, is collected only with consent and only where it is reasonably necessary, or where the law requires or authorises it.

6. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

  • directly from you, when you fill in a form, call, text, email, meet us on site or send us documents

  • from people acting for you or referring you, such as an OT, support coordinator, plan manager, family member, strata manager or real estate agent

  • automatically through our website, using cookies and similar technologies (see section 10)

  • from publicly available sources, such as licence or ABN registers, when we check suppliers and subcontractors.

If someone gives us information about you, for example an OT referring a participant, we expect them to have your permission or another lawful basis to do so, and to tell you about this policy.

Unsolicited information. If we receive personal information we did not ask for, we will decide whether we could have collected it for our business purposes. If we could not, we will destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable, where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

Anonymity and pseudonyms. You can browse our website and ask general questions without telling us who you are, or by using a pseudonym. To give you a quote, arrange a site visit or carry out work, we will need your real name and contact details.

7. Why we collect and use personal information

We collect, hold and use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and requests for a construction review

  • assess jobs, inspect sites, prepare quotes, reports and scopes, and carry out and warrant our works

  • coordinate with OTs, support coordinators, plan managers, certifiers, engineers and other project stakeholders

  • invoice, receive payments and keep business records

  • manage suppliers, subcontractors and work health and safety

  • recruit staff

  • meet our legal, licensing, insurance and NDIS obligations

  • understand how our website is used and improve it

  • measure whether our Google Ads bring enquiries, using keyword and location targeting only

  • send you information about our services, where you have agreed (see section 11).

We will only use or disclose your information for another purpose if you consent, if you would reasonably expect it and it is related to the original purpose, or if the law requires or allows it.

8. Who we share personal information with

We may share personal information with:

  • subcontractors, tradespeople and suppliers working on your project

  • certifiers, engineers, surveyors, architects and other consultants

  • the OT, support coordinator, plan manager, family member or other party who engaged us or is involved in the project, within the terms of our agreement

  • strata managers, owners corporations, building managers and property managers connected with the job

  • our service providers: Wix, which hosts our website and stores form submissions; Google, for analytics and advertising measurement; our email, phone and IT providers; and our accountants, bookkeepers, insurers and legal advisers

  • government bodies and regulators where required or authorised by law, such as NSW Fair Trading, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, SafeWork NSW and the Australian Taxation Office.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

9. Overseas disclosure

Our website is built and hosted on Wix. All website form submissions, uploaded files and site data are held by Wix, not on our own servers.

Google Analytics and Google Ads data may be processed in any country where Google or its subprocessors maintain facilities.

We choose reputable providers that publish security and privacy commitments. Because these providers operate globally, we cannot guarantee that overseas recipients are bound by laws equivalent to the APPs.

We do not deliberately send NDIS participant health information overseas.

10. Cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads

Cookies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. Wix places essential cookies on every Wix site for security, fraud prevention and to keep the site working. Examples include cookies named XSRF-TOKEN, hs and svSession. Wix may also place cookies that help it monitor site performance.

Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site, such as which pages are popular and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information your browser sends, including the page address and your IP address. Google says Google Analytics does not associate raw IP addresses with user identifiers and discards raw IP addresses after use.

Google Ads conversion tracking. We run Google Ads targeted by search keyword and location only. We use conversion tracking to see whether an ad click leads to an enquiry or a call.

How Google uses data. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Your choices

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you block essential cookies.

  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

  • Control ad personalisation in your Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com

  • Use our cookie banner, where available, to accept or decline non-essential cookies.

11. Direct marketing and unsubscribing

We will only send you marketing emails or texts, such as service updates or news, if you have agreed to receive them, or where the law otherwise allows it.

Every marketing email or text from us will identify Altitude Construction Group and include a simple way to unsubscribe. We will action unsubscribe requests within 5 working days. You can also opt out at any time by emailing altitude@altitudeconstructiongroup.com.au.

Opting out of marketing will not stop us contacting you about a quote or project you are involved in. We never use NDIS participant information for marketing.

12. How we keep personal information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These steps include:

  • using reputable platforms: Wix encrypts data in transit and at rest

  • limiting access to the people who need it

  • password protection and two-step verification on our accounts

  • keeping NDIS participant documents out of our website system, in secure project records covered by confidentiality agreements

  • securely deleting information we no longer need.

No online system is completely secure. If you are concerned about sending something to us, call us on 0414 888 830 to arrange another way.

Data breaches. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm to anyone, we will assess it promptly. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required.

13. How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires. As a general guide:

  • website enquiries that do not proceed: up to 2 years, then deleted

  • project, contract and warranty records: for at least 7 years after the project is completed, to cover statutory warranty, insurance and tax record-keeping requirements

  • job applications that are unsuccessful: up to 12 months, unless you ask us to keep them longer

  • health information uploaded to the website by mistake: moved and deleted as described in section 5.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

14. Accessing and correcting your personal information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 18. We will need to confirm your identity before releasing or changing any information.

We will respond within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days. We do not charge for making a request. If giving you access involves significant effort, we may charge a reasonable fee, which we will tell you about first.

If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how to complain. If we do not agree to correct information, you can ask us to attach a statement of your view to it.

For information about an NDIS participant, we may need to work with the OT or other party who engaged us, in line with our confidentiality agreement and the law.

15. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first (see section 18) and tell us what happened.

How we handle complaints

  • We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days.

  • The nominated person will look into it.

  • We will give you a written response, generally within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response

  • Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): www.oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992. The OAIC generally expects you to complain to us first and give us 30 days to respond.

  • NDIS-related concerns: if your concern is about NDIS supports or services, including how a participant's privacy was respected, you can contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544 (free call from landlines), TTY 133 677, or at www.ndiscommission.gov.au.

  • Health information in NSW: you can also contact the Information and Privacy Commission NSW on 1800 472 679 or at www.ipc.nsw.gov.au.

16. Automated decision-making

We do not use computer programs, including artificial intelligence, to make decisions about you that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect your rights or interests. People at Altitude make all decisions about enquiries, quotes, projects, suppliers and job applicants.

Google Ads uses automated systems to decide when to show our ads to searchers based on keywords and location. We do not use these systems to make decisions about individual people.

If this changes, we will update this policy to describe the kinds of decisions and the kinds of personal information involved.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if our services, systems or the law change. The current version will always be on this page, with its effective date and version number.
